Workshop II – Events networking and impact on waste reduction – Bihac, 27th February 2015

On 27th February, in Bihac at the Hotel De Luxe Kostelski buk, Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism organized the Workshop II – Events networking and impact on waste reduction within the Project “Zero Waste Adriatic Net for events and festivals”. The participants of the event were 21 from different parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Bihac, Sarajevo, Citluk, Konjic, Cazic etc.
The workshop started at 10.30 A.M. in the conference room of Hotel “De Luxe Kostelski Buk” in Bihac.
In order to facilitate the Worskhop and promote the Zero Waste goals, we have produced cardboard pencils, notepads with ZW logo1, folders with ZW logo, promotional leaflets with general information on Zero Waste Project, hats and T-shirts with ZW logo.
National park “Una” as well participated in promotional leaflets of NP Una, as well with two roll-up banners.
The workshop was opened by Mr Nedjeljko Babic (Assistant Minister) who welcomed the participants and presented the goals of the workshop.
After the welcome words, Ms Amra Tabucic (Technical Manager of the Project on the behalf of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism) presented the goals and objectives of the IPA Adriatic Zero Waste Net for Events and Festivals as well as on the Working Package 5 of the project: Application and Promotion of the Zero Waste Net for festivals and events for which implementation and project outputs Federal Ministry is responsible.
Mr Davor Jagodic (Lead Beneficiary – Faculty of Tourism and Management) presented the main project output which is the permanent ICT application as a tool to exchange expertise and promote accessibility to information and communication services which will strengthen the sustainable development capacity of the Adriatic area thought the agreed Zero Waste strategy and promote the tourist economy in accordance with Zero Waste Guidelines and answered on participants` questions interested in benefits of the ICT application.
Mr Haris Hadzihajdarevic from the National Park “Una” presented its work and activities which can be very useful in achieving goals from the Zero Waste Guidelines. He pointed out that they are very willing to cooperate and presented all activities National Park “Una” implement regarding waste reduction in National Park. Mr Hadzihajdarevic pointed out on public awareness this region has
when it comes to nature and environment protection which is crucial in protecting national treasure such river Una is. The workshop was opened for questions and discussion. Representative of the Ministry of Environment Protection from Una-Sana Canton, emphasized that he is very interested in the functioning the permanent ICT application which will definitely be very useful when it comes to networking events and festivals willing to achieve goals from the ZeroWaste Guidelines.
Participant, who have its own restaurant in this region and works in tourist promotion, think this application will connect organizers of the events with similar point of views which can be very in advance regarding the Zero Waste tourism
promotion of the region.

Other participants had some questions about financing the ICT application, who will do maintenance and other issues which are very crucial regarding the sustainability of the project.
