2 Durres film festiva 2014

The 7th Durres International Film Festival (DIFF) took place on 9-14 September 2014, at the Palace of Culture & Theater and in the Ancient Roman Amphitheater, the event consist in the presentation of the best film productions to the local audience, visitors and tourists. The festival this year was enriched with two new sections: the program of the new documentary films and the Program of the short Films. During the Festival days, around 16 000 visitor had the opportunity to learn more about the Culture and Traditions of the Region of Durres and the surrounding areas. After the signature of the agreement of collaboration between the Regional Council of Durres and the Municipality of Duress, “Durres International Film Festival”, DIFF, were monitored from Zero Waste staff with the purpose to reduce waste in the environment during the of the manifestations and events. The main innovations applied were: distribution of the film festival program during the six days through short videos with Bluetooth; offering free drinks for visitors and guests in paper glasses  to turn back the glasses in order to reduce environmental pollution;

setting banner and promotion stands in the festival area, at the entrance to the Palace of culture &Theater and at the entrance of the Roman Amphitheater.
The idea was to reduce the printed materials and contact people via technology systems. In total were contacted 134 persons and 346 videos/night were distributed during the Durres International Film Festival. A part of promotional materials were realized with recycled paper and to the visitors were offered free drinks in cardboard glasses.
DIFF was monitored to meet the requirements of the project and is now awaiting the special logo of the “ Zero Waste” project.
Staff of Zero Waste Albania became active part of the event management, introducing mentioned innovation to preserve environment.
